Below is  the link to my Work in  REDD+

REDD+ Community Member Spotlight: Adenle Ademola Andrew

Where are you based?
I am a research student with the West Africa Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted land use (WASCAL) in Nigeria.

Can you briefly describe your work in REDD+?
The focus of my work is to characterize local degradations and deforestations of natural environments (forests) using geospatial techniques. I also work closely with local communities to help them better understand the benefits of managing their natural environments and to increase their participation in local climate protection programmes.

How can REDD+ Community help you do your work better?
So far, REDD+ has not yet been fully embraced in Nigeria. This gap necessitated my study to understand the challenges of managing pristine ecosystems in response to climate protection at local scales. I therefore would like the REDD+ Community to assist in strengthening this work through collaboration and support.

What do you like best about your work?
My field work experience has been and will continue to be worthwhile and challenging. I like every aspect of my field work, especially my interactions with local communities which give me a platform to learn more about what they do, how they do it, and their local ideas on issues related to climate change and climate protection. My work with communities also gives me the opportunity to develop relevant research ideas to meet their needs.
